Syed Ahmad Iqbal Ashraf appointed President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP)

Nawaz government appointed Syed Ahmad Iqbal Ashraf as President National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). “The Finance Ministry has moved three names to Prime Minister for post of President National Bank of Pakistan, and the Premier has given approval of the name of Syed Ahmad Iqbal Ashraf for the aforesaid post.The government in September last year sought applications for the post of top position of the NBP. Around 50 candidates have applied for the post of president of the National Bank of Pakistan.
Several in-service and most of retired officers of the NBP applied for the post. Similarly, other candidates who wished to be president of this Bank belong to several other noted banks and financial institutions, including Summit Bank, Bank of Punjab, HBL, UBL, Allied Bank Limited, KASB Bank, ZTBL, Waseela Microfinance Limited, Saudi Pak Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company, NIB Bank, Pakistan Industrial and Common Leasing, United International Group, Adamjee Insurance, Standard Chartered Bank, Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Bank Al Bilad, Kuwait Investment, Masheq Bank and Bank of Khyber
